Crosstown Harmony Chorus Leadership

Our chorus thrives because of the energy and style of the people who have stepped up to lead. Here are a few of the people that make our ensemble tick:

 

 

 Karen Wysocky- Director

Karen is a nationally board certified teacher and in addition to being our frontline director is also currently the choral director at West Bend High School, in West Bend WI. She received her BFA in music education from UW-Milwaukee, and her MM in Piano Pedagogy from Southern Methodist University in Dallas Texas. She has been a member of Sweet Adelines for 5 years and has taught Vivace! - a YWIH (Young Women in Harmony) chorus for the past 18 years. Karen received the MENC award (Music Educators National Conference) at the international convention in Nashville in 2009. This is a high honor given to a music educator who has done outstanding work in music education and has promoted music in the barbershop style as an American Art form. In her free time, she enjoys reading, knitting, gardening, figure skating and playing with her dogs Paddington and Pierre.

 

Kathie Eastman - Assistant Director

Kathie has been very active in music all of her life and became a Sweet Adeline in 1980. As such, she has been a director, an assistant director, accompanist and a quartet member. Her first interest in barbershop music began in high school when she sang in a quartet. She has a bachelor's degree in education and a concentrated area of study in music. She is a pianist and especially loves playing jazz. Arranging music in the barbershop style is her newest venture. Kathie states that music is her passion, and is thrilled to share this passion with the lovely, talented ladies of Crosstown Harmony. Kathie is also a dual member with the 2009 International Championship Chorus, the Melodeers.
