How is Crosstown Harmony different from a church or community choir?

Choreography, theatrical costumes, makeup and four-part a cappella singing set Crosstown Harmony apart from other singing groups. We also memorize our music to ensure the most entertaining performance possible and enable us to connect with the audience.

What is Crosstown Harmony's role in the community?Crosstown Harmony performs regularly throughout the greater Milwaukee area, offering its talent for entertainment at civic events and charitable functions, in addition to promoting harmony and friendship among women.

What awards has Crosstown Harmony received?In 2010, Crosstown Harmony was named the 2010 Region 22 Chorus Champion as well as the Most Improved Chorus of Region 22 and the First Place Mid-Sized Chorus of Region 22. In total, Crosstown Harmony has earned 13 regional championships and has competed at international competitions in Miami, Honolulu, Kansas City, Detroit, Indianapolis, Nashville, Orlando,  Las Vegas and Houston.

Who is eligible for membership in Crosstown Harmony?Any women who like to sing are welcome to join Crosstown Harmony. The chorus' membership includes women of all ages, sizes and shapes, from a wide variety of careers. Chorus members come from all over the greater Milwaukee area - some driving an hour or more to our weekly rehearsals.

What kind of musical training is required to sing in Crosstown Harmony?Musical knowledge or experience is not necessary to join - voice training and music education are valuable benefits of Sweet Adelines International membership. Chorus members range from first-time singers to trained, experienced musicians.

Why should women consider joining Crosstown Harmony Chorus and/or Sweet Adelines International?Simply put - it's fun, and anyone can do it! In addition to providing a multitude of singing and performing opportunities, Sweet Adelines provides many opportunities for music education and development.
